The numbers

The Ice Fishing 5,000x maximum win

The headline figure needs three things in the same round, and it belongs to the lowest-returning bet on the wheel. Here is the arithmetic.

18+ · T&Cs apply · gambling can be addictive

What has to happen

The 5,000x ceiling requires three separate conditions to line up in one round.

  1. The wheel stops on Huge Reds, which is one segment out of 53.
  2. That segment carries a 10x wheel multiplier, the top of the 2x to 10x range.
  3. The bonus round produces a 500x catch, the top of the 10x to 500x range.

500 multiplied by 10 is 5,000. Remove any one condition and the ceiling drops sharply: a 500x catch without the multiplier is 500x, and a 10x multiplier on a minimum 10x catch is 100x. How the two multiplier systems work.

How often

Huge Reds alone appears on 1.89% of spins. The 10x wheel multiplier is the rarest value in its range, and a 500x catch is the extreme of a distribution weighted heavily towards small fish — it has to be, or the route could not return 95.17%.

Evolution does not publish the frequency of the individual multiplier values, so an exact probability for 5,000x cannot be stated honestly. What can be said is that all three conditions are individually uncommon and independent, which puts the combined event far beyond anything worth planning a bankroll around.

The practical reading: treat 5,000x the way you would treat a stated ceiling on any product, as the highest number the design allows rather than an outcome to aim at. The route that reaches it also carries the lowest return in the game at 95.17%, which is how casino pricing works everywhere. Odds per segment.

The 500,000 cap

A single round pays no more than 500,000 in table currency regardless of the multiple. At a 100 stake, 5,000x would be 500,000 exactly, so the cap begins to bite at stakes above that on the top outcome.

This is why the published return for large bonus bets drops to 94.55%. The cap removes the tail of the payout distribution, and the tail is precisely what the bonus routes are priced for. The RTP consequences are here.
